The Reese Project: Lyrics
Blue Tuesday (recorded on Blue Etude)
Written by: Tom Reese
I met her on a Friday, man, she was really a find, as sweet as wine, playing with my passions. Looking like an Angel, acting like the Devil's child. She drove me wild.
So we went over to my place, got some easy lovin’ on borrowed time. Could have been a warnin’ sign. Remembering the night-time, man, I don’t know how I survived, she’s really alive, even in the morning. Hiding in the bathroom, tryin’ to catch a moments rest, I must confess.
Saturday took me to the edge, Sunday in the morning, I said a prayer. Now the Blues are everywhere.
I understand the sorrow, going from good to bad, the dreams that I had, fading like a memory, leaving me forever, telling me that I should see she needs to be free.
Monday was stormy and gray, Tuesday in the evening, she went away. Guess the Blues are here to stay.
Key to Your Heart (recorded on Blue Etude 2002)
Written by: Tom Reese (BMI)
Will I find the key to your heart or will you leave forever? You can find your way back into my arms, open up the door, you will find me there, waiting for you.
Do you miss my touch in the night? Do you recall the pleasure? Is the moment gone, driven like the wind to the streets again? Guess I’ll never know where I went wrong.
Looks like I am left here on my own. Sitting by the phone watching the time melt into the evening twilight.
Funny how our memories seem to fade, cooling like the early autumn shade. Alone, in my empty room, where I’ll stay, ‘till I slip away and dream about you.
Now the evening calm, fills the night, and I can feel my heart break. Are you safe and sound? Warming someone’s heart, memories depart, I am here alone, counting the stars.
Flickering across the milky way, distant in a place you choose to stay, you’re gone, from my life again, like a rhyme, dancing through my mind, until you fade from view.
